A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is a secure digital token that authenticate the identity of the DSC holder, issued by a Certifying Authority (CA). It typically contains your identity details. Digital Certificates use Public Key Infrastructure meaning data that has been digitally signed or encrypted by a private key can only be decrypted by its corresponding public key. The documents signed using digital signatures are also legally binding on the person using it. Also for electronic messages, digital signature ensures that message has not altered in transit.
